Jobie was born in Darwin but has grown up in both Gunbalanya (Oenpelli) and Warruwi (Goulburn Island).

Jobie is now working at the Clinic in Warruwi and spends some of his spare time painting at Mardbalk Art & Craft Centre. Jobie learnt to paint through workshops at Injalak Art & Craft in Gunbalanya while he was at school there. He is a very talented painter who takes great pride in ensuring his paintings are neat, colourful and represent the wildlife and environments of both Warruwi and Gunbalanya.

Jobie is married and has two lovely daughters. He loves to go hunting for turtle and dugong, and also loves fresh barramundi and magpie geese.
