Helen was born in Galiwin'ku (Elcho Island) and moved to Warruwi in 2007 to be with her family and father on the island. Helen is married and has an adopted daughter.

Helen has worked around Arnhem Land as a shop assistant in Millingimbi. As an assistant teacher to disabled students in Ramingining and now as an artist at Mardbalk Arts in Warruwi on the CDEP program. Helen is a pleasure to work with, always happy and willing to help.

Helen's favourite foods are oysters, dugong, turtle and fish, which she likes to go hunting for in her spare time, when she isn't cleaning her house or painting. Helen is also learning how to make shell jewellery and pandanus weaving with other ladies who work alongside her at Mardbalk Arts.
