Richard was born in Galiwin'ku (Elcho Island) and came to Warruwi with his family a very long time ago.

He now works at Mardbalk Arts & Craft Centre and is incredibly passionate about his artworks. Richard's works have a very abstract style and always tell strong stories. He paints what is currently happening in his life at the time, whether that be a ceremony, community meetings, foods that he is hunting for, or the change in seasons.

Richard's father taught him how to paint and carve when he was quite young. Richard really enjoys fishing and hunting, and fish are one of his favourite foods. He is married and has two children, who he has also taught to paint and participate strongly in cultural ceremonies.
